This is an awesome bar. When we went they had a kickass musician. The manager and bartenders were on on their game. It was hard to find a bar open after midnight in Wilson which made The Cardinal the perfect oasis for locals and out of towners a like.

Stopped in on a long wait for a rail connection to Durham. So glad this place was open. Food is hotdogs, including vegan versions. Bartender was super cool, and met a fellow rail rider. Great spot.

This is the only bar in town that is open till 2am so good option for laggers like me! Clientele and staff are friendly, the hot dogs are a great “bar food” option. I especially liked the Texas toast style bun and the fresh jalapeños were chopped without the center and seeds, so that they weren’t super hot. 👍🏼

Stopped in and tried it out. Solid beer selection. Got a 🌭 and it hit the spot. Didn't try the fries, but they looked good. We will be back. Live music on Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Wish they would start the music a little earlier. They start playing at 10p. Other than that, great experience.

The hotdogs were really good, we enjoyed the toasted buns. They were smaller than we were expecting but the flavor made up for that! Staff are friendly. They don’t have a dedicated drink menu but if you give them a flavor profile or classic cocktail they easily make something to your liking. They have a pool table towards the back and a couple arcade games as well as an outdoor space in the back. Overall a great addition to Wilson. It’s adjacent to the whirligig park.

This place is so nice, really comfy and a nice vibe, hotdogs are to die for! and surprisingly cheap all things considering. And they actually have cider which I appreciate. And I’m new to drinking and she said they can basically make any cocktail you think of and recommend me a whisky sour, which was so delicious!

Really enjoyed the dogs and the highlife pony’s!! Bummed they didn’t have fireball! But upgraded to tequila shots instead! Am visiting a the area and have been here twice in the past two days! Good people and atmosphere! Get the dang hot dog!!

I’ve gone here quite a few times and I’ve always had a decent experience until this last time. We spent $61 dollars and I tipped $12 (we were there maybe 30ish minutes) right after leaving I was charged $51.26 and then another $10 cause they didn’t charge it right initially and then later it updated to reflect the amount with the tip for $74 dollars. Woke up this morning (a Tuesday and we went on Saturday) and I was charged yet AGAIN another $51.26…why? I’m pregnant so I definitely didn’t even order much to drink except 2 non alcoholic drinks. My husband had a couple drinks but no way did we spend $130….check your bank statements cause apparently they WILL double charge you. I plan to call at 12 when they open to get it resolved and will update my review if it’s fixed but right now I’m pretty livid. EDITED REVIEW: I changed my review to 5 stars because I was able to contact the manager who was super understanding of the situation and told me how to fix it if the charge didn’t fall off of my card…the charge finally fell off of my card after about 5 days and my money was given back to me so ultimately I only paid what I spent including tip. Food here has always been really good (I’m obsessed with their hotdogs) and customer service is always friendly/quick. Still one of my absolute favorite places to go and they will continue to get my business! I had never had any issues up until this recent visit and it was resolved reasonably and in a timely manner, thank you!!

Loved the hot dogs! Great topping choices and the toasted buns were delicious. Great selection of drinks too!
